XPI Simulation awarded contract to study Motorway Traffic Control

XPI Simulation Ltd. (XPI) has recently been awarded
a contract by UK Department for Transport (DfT) under the “Synthetic Environments
in Managed Motorways” initiative.
XPI is working in partnership with Southampton University’s
Transportation Research Group to provide innovative solutions for the
DfT which is sponsoring the work, along with the Highways Agency and
Technology Strategy Board under the Small Business Research Initiative
(SBRI).
Commenting, Simon Skinner, managing director said, “XPI is
the leading supplier of driving safety trainers in the UK, and also
provides cutting-edge research to the Ministry of Defence through
the Synthetic Environments Tower of Excellence.
Working with internationally recognised transportation experts at Southampton University, XPI’s military simulation research and commercial product pedigree will be combined with academic excellence. We will be providing innovative solutions with the goal of reducing congestion on Britain’s motorways.”
